Shown at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Trashy Clothing’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection “In Divine Trust” marks the label’s Paris debut and a clear expansion of its visual and political language. Founded by Shukri Lawrence and Omar Braika, the brand operates through a space shaped by diaspora, cultural memory and the realities of power structures. Rather than approaching these themes as distant references, Trashy Clothing embeds them directly into the construction of garments, allowing clothing to carry tension, contradiction and meaning at once. For VAKUUM, Olesya Parfenyuk documents the show in a direct and physical way. Her images stay close to the body, capturing not only the silhouettes but the way they move, hold and release. What emerges is less a fixed narrative and more a shifting field of control and resistance, where structure never fully settles and the body remains in negotiation with what it wears.
