When beats, light, and darkness collide in ecstatic, twitching motion, boundaries begin to blur. GDA aka Gods Dark Angels is the musical entity behind this evocative sound. Through the eyes of Boloboy’s Loco Candy and the rising force in electronic music Vigo Blax, reality suddenly starts to look entirely different: liberated, wild, and honest. The restrictive dividing lines that barely hold societal conventions together crumble in the sound of their musical defiance.

The artist duo Gods Dark Angels creates an atmosphere through music and performance that pushes into the blurred realms of shadow and refuses to categorize itself. Loco Candy (he/him, singer-songwriter/ DJ) and Vigo Blax (he/him, producer/ songwriter) believe that “experience and knowledge are not always found where things are simple and clear, but often in the darker, more complex corners. This balance is also reflected in our music.”

The fusion of electro, experimental pop, and rebellious punk not only aims to break the chains of musical genres but also to push things a step further. “In a world often defined by norms and expectations, GDA stands for diversity, acceptance, and rebellion.”

Music, therefore, serves both as an act of social protest and as a means to bring together people who are still fighting to claim their own space in GDA’s eyes. At the forefront of it all are ecstasy and euphoria.

While cult-like energy, pulsating beats, and punk intensity seem to glorify the dark, the playful joy in their own project opens up an almost magnetic access to GDA’s art. Under the spell of the music, bodies simply want to dance, let go, and perhaps find a sense of release. This is the essence of GDA: a feeling of free community, a counter-design to normative reality. Triggered by losing oneself in the music, “everyone is welcome to express themselves freely and authentically”, only to find themselves again in a more liberated community. Through their music, Gods Dark Angels creates a space for freedom, empowerment, and self-expression –always somewhere between light and darkness.

GDA’s latest track, Dame Flores, encapsulates this feeling. Heavy beats accompany late-nineties-rave-esque melodies. Vocals by GDA dampen its celebretory nature with an air of mystique. Dame Flores represents a musical zeitgeist a generation is craving for: To let loose, to have fun, to wash off the sticky layers of self-awareness and musical snobbery while creating a safe space to engage with darker and complex sounds and themes.
