“EXLIBRIS” by Haderlump is a poetic manifesto in fabric for SS26

In the hush of Berlin’s Haus der Visionäre, where concrete meets canal and concept meets calm, Haderlump unfurls its Spring/Summer 2026 collection EXLIBRIS during Berlin Fashion Week like a page torn from a book. Under the direction of Johann Ehrhardt, the show is less a fashion presentation and more a living archive: garments as authored statements, silhouettes as signatures.

EXLIBRIS by Haderlump Is Inspired by Bookplates

The name EXLIBRIS, Latin for “from the books”, sets the tone. Historically, it refers to bookplates, intricate little illustrations printed inside rare books to show who they belonged to. But for creative director Johann Ehrhardt, this idea became something more abstract: a way to explore identity, memory, and the things we claim as ours. Especially in a time where so much is fleeting.

This idea of ownership – emotional, artistic, physical – weaves through the collection like a thread. The looks say as much: a sharply cut black coat, its seams intentionally exposed, like the inner workings of something not trying to hide. Satin apron panels layered underneath bring in a tension between formality and functionality, somewhere between priest and craftsman

Haderlump SS26 at Berlin Fashion Week: Between Archive and Restoration

Throughout, there is this ongoing dance between structure and softness. One model floats down the runway in a high-collared, pleated linen dress, pale like old paper and just as fragile-looking. It looked historical, but was grounded by deep burgundy heels and a soft leather shoulder bag. Another silhouette hugs the body in sheer ruched tulle, the fabric gathered and bound at the hips with ceremonial-like precision. The draped hoods, which appear in multiple looks, feel protective, like you were carrying your own archive with you.

Menswear leans into volume and shadow. Bomber jackets (some in deep black, others in faded olive) have a monastic grace to them, oversized and draped to shift with the body. Trousers come wide-legged and poetic, brushing the ground like fabric pages. And a standout rust-colored coat worn over pinstriped pants captures this delicate line between decay and revival through restoration.

Haderlump Collaborates with Liebeskind Berlin for SS26

The accessories, created in collaboration with Liebeskind Berlin, deepens the concept. Bags are reimagined as modern-day bookplates intimate, marked and meaningful. Beauty looks by Caia Cosmetics add texture and tension: slicked-down hair, luminous skin, and untouched brows make each face feel like part of the storytelling.

Fabric choices are quiet but powerful. Coarse linen, worn leather and crushed cotton each evoke the feeling of old pages, antique bindings and pressed paper. The muted palette in dusty ink, charcoal, parchment and stone is soft, but never dull. There is a lived-in beauty to it all.

Chontane’s soundscape moves with the models – literally. The spatial audio responds in real time, heightening the atmosphere and making the whole experience feel immersive, like stepping inside someone’s memory.

With EXLIBRIS, Haderlump leaves space for the viewer to lean in. These aren’t clothes meant to trend. They are meant to endure. They ask what kind of mark we leave behind and if the things we wear can say who we are, long after we’ve left the room.
